Language on board is English but German, Russian or French can be spoken by our Cruise Coordinators and hotel staff on scheduled cruise sailings. In general there is a multilingual environment and you will have a chance to mix with a variety of nationalities. Excursions and public announcements are usually in English. English and sometimes German are widely spoken on all ports of call visited by our small ships.

The choice of a yacht for your cruise is very important to the success of your holiday. At Variety Yachting we have been chartering large yachts of all types for years and therefore have a great deal of experience to help you make the right decision.

As per the Greek tax legislation, Value Added Tax of 4.5% applies on the gross charter fee.

Most charter rates in Greece are based on HYBA Terms, which imply that the yacht will be provided to the charterer in full commission and with all necessary equipment, properly insured for marine risks and managed by a crew, whose wages, food and clothing, lubricants for the Engine, port fees with Greek ports of call, water for the yacht & bottled water for crew & passengers are for the owner’s account.

If your chosen cruising itinerary necessitates embarking or disembarking from a point other than the yacht’s home port, positioning charges (delivery/redelivery fees) may be required. These charges vary from the distance that the yacht has to cover in order to reach the specified port.

your chosen yacht has been verified, you will receive a standard HYBA Charter Agreement for signature. If positioning charges are required. These charges, if applicable, will be confirmed in advance and affirmed in the Charter Agreement.

The Advance Provisioning Allowance (APA) is due prior to clients arrival or upon arrival. This Sum is usually approximately 20% of the charter fee.

Intended to cover the operating expenses of a charter such as, fuel, food, drinks, port fees(if needed), these funds will be given to the captain before the start of your charter. He will ensure that your yacht is fully fuelled and provisioned when you step on board. Whilst an up-to-date summary of accounts can be requested at any time during your charter, a full set of accounts will normally be submitted by your captain at the end for the cruise.

If, during the charter, the expenditure exceeds the sum already paid, the captain will inform the client and the client can choose either to pay each expense on the spot or pay the whole amount at the end of the cruise.

All outstanding bills should be settled in cash before final disembarkation. Of course, any remaining credit at the end of your charter will be reimbursed to you in full.

Every detail counts. Several weeks before you board your yacht, we will ask you to complete a detailed questionnaire describing the preferences and special needs of all the members of your party, such as dietary or medial requirements, details of any allergies, and your sporting or entertainment requests. This will enable us and the crew of your chosen yacht to ensure that everything possible is done to make your charter a fabulous experience.

You just have to fill in our CHARTERER'S PREFERENCE FORM. To prepare your cruise carefully, according to your own individual requirements, we will forward to you a detailed questionnaire which will need to be completed by you with your travel details (we will organize adequate pick-up from the airport and transfer to your yacht), your guests list, your food likes and dislikes (we will make sure that your Chef has adequately stocked his galley and has prepared menus to your taste), your wine list (we will ensure your orders are in place and that your favorite drinks are waiting for you onboard), etc ....

You are now on board... We will always try to welcome you onboard or to meet you on the last day of your cruise, but this may not always be possible due to location, in which case we will call you during the cruise to ensure all is to your satisfaction. We will also remain in discreet contact with the vessel during your stay on board, so if you have any concern, please do not to hesitate to contact us directly or via the Captain.

Please note that the charter rates, status and equipment lists given for each yacht are correct at the time of going to press. However, there are occasional changes, so please check before booking.

Smoking is only possible on outdoor areas including all decks.
Smoking indoor constitutes a safety hazard.

Crew gratuities are discretionary, although it is customary for a charterer who has enjoyed the kind and attentive service of an obliging crew to extend a gratuity. Crew gratuities are normally in the region of 10% of the charter fee, but can be adjusted up or down according to your level of satisfaction.

The distribution of the Gratuities must be entrusted to the captain. In this way, inconspicuous crew members such as engineers and culinary staff, who make an important contribution to your safety and enjoyment, will not be overlooked.

The charter rate includes Insurance for Hull & Machinery and big amounts for 3^rd Party Liabilities. However we strongly recommend that charterers take out Cancellation and Curtailment Insurance to protect their investment if unforeseen circumstances prevent or curtail their charter. Additionally, all members of the charter party should be covered by Personal Accident and Medical Insurance, and their personal effects should be insured against theft, loss or damage.

Other forms of insurance, such as Charterer’s Liability may also be prudent.

We will be pleased to assist with arranging any policy not covered by the basic Charter Agreement.

A Certificate of Competency is required to participate in water sports activities (jet skis, wave runners and other mechanically propelled watercraft). Please consider which members of your party will want to use the yacht’s motorized water toys. If they do not have the required licenses /certificates they will not be able to use them by themselves Use of personal watercraft is only permitted subject to the operator having the appropriate license and meeting with local operating regulations. Any liability arising from non-compliance is entirely at the operator’s risk.
