VARIETY CRUISES INTRODUCES NEW VARIETY STARS, THEIR REWARDS PROGRAM, FOR THE TRAVEL COMMUNITY

NEW YORK (March 15, 2010) – Variety Cruises introduces its new Variety Stars travel agentrewards program and the new 2011/2 Cruise Book. Travel agents can now earn free sailings for their bookings, redeemable on a host of Variety Cruise itineraries and ships.

Variety Cruises’ Variety Stars program rewards travel agents for all reservations made. For each cabin booked, travel agents earn one or more Star towards a complimentary trip on any Variety Cruises vessel for themselves and a companion. Agents can also earn extra commissions on certain sailings.

“Travel agents are an important and valued segment of our business,” says Yiannis Vontas, Variety Cruises senior partner and executive vice president development and marketing. “Our new Variety Stars program has been designed to reward travel agents with exciting cruise experiences, while also providing them with the latest information and services to better serve their customers.”

Variety Stars Reward System:

·        Any cabin category – one Star per cabin booked (maximum of three stars per reservation)
·        Group (seven paying cabins or more) – six stars
·        Private Charter – 10 stars
·        More stars can be earned for selected programs or sailing dates
·        Stars are credited to the agent account after client sails

For each sixth star earned, travel agents receive a free Variety Cruises trip. Port charges are additional.

Variety Stars belong to individual agents, not to the agencies. Agents can donate their stars to a colleague in the same agency only.

Agents may register by accessing the Travel Agent section of VarietyCruises.com. The process takes two minutes and agents ' accounts are automatically credited with one Star if they have never booked with Variety Cruises before and 2 stars if they had done so in 2009 and 2010.  Once they log in, they have access to a wealth of information, specials, their booking history and profile information.

The Variety Cruises 2011/2 Cruise Book, a go-to guide for the Variety Cruises’ experience, is now available. It contains everything travel agents and travelers need to know, from exotic itineraries and ports of call, to recommended excursions, cruise dates and pricing. To order, agents can register at VarietyCruises.com and access the “Order” link.
