A poem
Leaving Dubrovnik on a bright sunny day
We were all aboard and ready to sail away
States North and South, Canada, England, Germany too
We were quite the international crew
Our first port was Split
The ancient walls and Diocletian’s Palace were quite the hit.
On to Trogir stuck in traffic on the ride
Soothed by the melodic beauty of Maria our guide
Over night our ship did bob In the morning we awoke in Rab
A wonderful town with Italian charm
Strolling through with your loved one arm and arm
A refreshing dip in the Adriatic Sea
There’s no other place I’d rather be
A short ride to Krka where waterfalls abound
then to Sibenik, Marina showed us around
A better day couldn’t have been planned
The evening ended with a Croatian band
A short tender not so far
There was the island of Hvar
Mega yachts a large square
It was warm many people there
Back to the ship
In the Adriatic we took a dip
Arriving in Korcula was a sweet reward
A medieval battle and death by sword
A tour of the city a vineyard swoon
That evening a total eclipse of the moon
Arriving in Kotor a massive vessel at our side
Aren’t you glad that wasn’t our ride
An ancient city with a fortress a top
Fifteen hundred steps that’s a lot
Mark, Kimon, Niven and the rest
All of them the very best
Every day the food was fine
The evenings passed with copious glasses of wine
Our journey was fun for sure
Here’s hoping our friendships endure!
