Last update: September 28, 2021

Variety Cruises was the first Cruise Line that returned to the seas in Greece weekly from July 2020 until October 2020, and has resumed cruises in Greece as of May 2021. We are grateful and proud that our Health & Safety Protocols that were developed have ensured a successful operation, with zero Covid-19 cases creating a treasure of memories for our guests and a very positive reaction by the media in honor of our safe and successful operation.

We are continuously enforcing our Health & Safety Measures, and we have officially resumed our cruises in Greece & the Greek islands cruises as of May 28, 2021 and sailing weekly on our M/S Galileo, M/Y Harmony G and M/S Panorama.
  • Yachts carrying only 30-40 guests on average
  • Enjoy Swim stops in uninhabited islands & visit quaint small islands and remote beaches accessible only by yachts
  • Small Group Shore excursions and archaeological sites visits during off-peak hours

In addition to the benefits of traveling on board our small ships with a few fellow travelers, we have activated additional preventive measures so that our guests may feel prepared and confident with their decision to sail on board Variety Cruises yachts.

With the consultation of The World Health Organization (WHO), we have adopted the below measures and sanitation protocols on board our small ships since the beginning of the outbreak.  Up to today, and following these protocols across our fleet, we have not had a COVID-19 case on board our yachts.

Policies currently in place include:

  • All Travelers over the 5 years of age, will be undergone Rapid Antigen testing prior to their embarkation, at a designated area on the pier, between 13:30-15:00hrs, at Variety Cruises’ expense.
  • Mandatory pre-boarding Health Reporting and Screening Questionnaire
  • Health & Sanitation Protocols on board our yachts
  • Outbreak response plan and outbreak prevention protocols, including Crew Vaccination and Weekly Testing

We have implemented Health screening measures prior to embarkation and during the cruise for all guests and crew. This includes:
All passengers and crew will be screened prior to embarkation and twice per day during the cruise (every morning and afternoon) for:
a) Body temperature
b) Blood oxygen content

Guests are asked to submit a completed questionnaire related to COVID prior to embarkation. All records related to each Guest’s Health Condition during the cruise, are kept in file for two months.

Some measures will remain in effect in certain countries and are subject to change at any time as we evaluate the situation and continue to consult with local health authorities as well as the WHO.

PCR Test arrangements during the cruise or upon disembarkation in Athens :

What are the arrangements available for guests who may need to have a PCR test in order to fly home? Who bears the cost?
Variety Cruises Team on shore and on board will be able to assist guests and book appointments with accredited PCR testing clinic on shore for those guests requiring a PCR test to accommodate either onward travel or return to their home country, including for guests who have time sensitive travel arrangements upon disembarkation.
The cost will be borne by the guest, payable directly to the clinic. Results will then be emailed or texted directly to the guest by the clinic.
Appointments will be required and will be scheduled during the cruise, while full details of return flights will be asked prior to their embarkation, to ensure that the tests booked will have the required validity: To clarify, the 72-hour PCR test validity period starts from the moment the test is taken and not from the result notification.
