THE BEST TIME TO CRUISE THE MEDITERRANEAN

A docked small ship during a cruise.

The weather in the Mediterranean is pleasant and mild all year round so there is really no best time for a Mediterranean cruise. It totally depends on your own personal preferences and style as well as your very own schedule. Although the spring, summer and fall seasons are considered optimal for a cruise due to the exceptional weather, the choice is yours. Let’s figure out together which is the best time of the year for a Mediterranean cruise as we go through the seasons.

Spring

During spring, the Mediterranean is blooming with the scents of blossoming flowers, of fresh fruit growing in sprawling lands and valleys and seasonal delicacies from local restaurants and taverns. The streets are oozing with life, character, and charm, embracing you in their warm spirit. Do we consider spring to be the best time to visit the Mediterranean? Well spring in the Mediterranean is surely magical but so is summer.

Summer

The crystalline waters and gorgeous sun kissed beaches are a reason alone to consider summer to be the best time to travel to the Mediterranean. Visit the gorgeous islands, embrace the Mediterranean summer spirit, and feel the energy surrounding you.

Fall

The cooler temperatures don’t necessarily mean that you cannot still enjoy the shimmering waters of the Mediterranean Sea. There are many people that prefer to swim in cooler waters while staying away from the crowds. Even sightseeing can be more comfortable when arranged off season. With less tourists and lower prices fall is a season you should definitely consider. Some even consider fall to be the best time to go on a Mediterranean cruise.

Winter

There are only a handful of cruises over the winter for those who appreciate discovering the true spirit of a destination. To see an island’s true self and experience life in a foreign land as a local. Is winter the best time to take a Mediterranean cruise? Maybe not, but this doesn’t mean that it’s not worth it. You can visit the Adriatic, the east coast of Italy and most central European countries, as well as Turkey and Greece.

If you ask us there is really no best time to go to the Mediterranean. The Mediterranean is an all-year-round destination offering something spectacular for every season. So, from our point of view, we consider the best time to go to the Mediterranean to be…any time.
